Section R3-11-704. Surgical Equipment

In addition to complying with the requirements in this Article, if surgery is performed on a veterinary medical premises, a responsi- ble veterinarian shall ensure that the following is provided on the veterinary medical premises:
1. Caps, masks, and sterile gloves and gowns;
2. Sterile surgical packs, including:
i. Drapes;
ii. Sponges; and
iii. Surgical instruments necessary to perform a surgical procedure;
3. An oxygen tank that contains oxygen sufficient for each animal to whom general anesthesia is administered;
4. A means of administering anesthesia for each animal that will receive general anesthesia;
5. A fixed or portable surgical light to illuminate the surgi- cal site; and
6. A light for use if the surgical light will not operate.
