Section R9-21-106. State Protection and Advocacy System

Staff of mental health agencies shall cooperate with the State Protection and Advocacy System in its investigations and advocacy for clients and shall provide the System access to clients, records and facilities to the extent permitted and required by federal law, 42
U.S.C.A. 10801-51. Nothing in this rule shall be construed to create an independent cause of action that does not already exist for the State Protection and Advocacy System either in state court or any administrative proceeding provided by these rules.
