  • A.      Each classroom at a school facility shall have Internet access, at least through a network modem. Each school must have available either on a school basis or on a district-wide basis a firewall and filtering software. Each school facility shall have at least one network multimedia computer, available for stu- dent use, for every eight students, on a school wide network. Computer equipment is subject to assessment under R7-6-265(A)(1) and (2).

    B.       A multimedia computer is defined as a computer that has sound, CD-ROM, a keyboard, a monitor, and a pointing device.

    C.      Until June 30, 2005, each district shall have an application ser- vice provider, coupled with an adequate variety of instruc- tional software.

    D.      In order to meet the requirements of this Section, should a school district have an application service provider in place, the school district may also meet the requirements of subsec- tion (A) of this Section by purchasing thin client terminals or network appliances with full access to the Internet, equipped with a 13” screen or larger monitors.
