Section R6-4-304. Screening for acceptance into initial training

  • A.      The screening of a candidate shall be conducted by a commit- tee which shall consist of:

    1.        Two voting BEP staff members.

    2.        Two voting BEP operators appointed by the chairman of the Arizona Participating Operators’ Committee (APOC).

    3.        The BEP supervisor shall act as the chairman of the com- mittee. He shall vote only in the event of a tie. The com- mittee chairman shall consult with the chairman of APOC before casting his vote.

    4.        The   referring  vocational  rehabilitation  counselor,   who shall have no vote.

    B.       The screening shall consist of a review of the candidate’s case history and an interview with the candidate relating to volun- tary participation in the BEP program and the candidate’s job qualifications. The committee shall then vote to accept into training, or reject the candidate and return to VR for further

    services as appropriate to assist the candidate in meeting the program criteria.

    C.      The determination of the screening committee shall be pro- vided to the candidate in writing. In the event of rejection the determination shall contain the reasons for the determination, recommendations for remedying any deficiencies, and provide notice of the right to appeal.
