Section R4-3-307. Conduct of seconds

  • A.      A contestant may have up to three seconds and shall designate to the referee which of them is the chief second. The chief sec- ond is responsible for the conduct of the assistant seconds.

    B.       A second may not enter the ring or stand on the apron during the progress of a round. He may not administer aid to a contes- tant during a round. During an officially interrupted round, a second may stand on the apron only with the express permis- sion of the referee.

    C.      Seconds must remain seated outside the ring between the prog- ress of a round and must comport themselves in such a way as not to interfere with the progress of a round. The referee has the discretion to disqualify a second whose conduct is interfer- ing with the contest.
