Article 10. WAGE CLAIMS |
Section R20-5-1001. Definitions

In this Article, unless the context otherwise requires:
1. “Claim” means a wage claim pursuant to A.R.S. § 23- 356.
2. “Claimant” means an individual who files a claim.
3. “Day” means calendar day.
4. “Department” means the Labor Department of the Indus- trial Commission of Arizona.
5. “Determination” means a finding by the Department under A.R.S. § 23-357 that a claim is either valid or invalid or that the Department cannot resolve the dispute.
6. “Director” means the Director of the Department.
7. “Dismissal” means an action by the Department in which the Department dismisses the claim and refers the claim- ant to other statutory remedies.
8. “Notice” or “notification” when made by the Department or the Director means a written communication transmit- ted to the employer or claimant, or both, by regular mail.
