Section R2-8-505. Restrictions on Purchasing Overlapping Service Credit; Transfers

A.      The ASRS shall not permit an eligible member to purchase service credit that, when added to credited service earned in any plan year, results in more than:

1.        One year of credited service in any plan year, or

2.        One month of credited service in any one calendar month.

B.       The restrictions in subsection (A) do not apply to service credit that an eligible member transfers from another retirement sys- tem to the ASRS as authorized in A.R.S. § 38-730 or A.R.S. Title 38, Chapter 5, Article 7, whether the eligible member requests the transfer before or after purchasing other service credit.
