Section R2-7-1009. Contract Awards Initiated by an Agency Chief Procurement Officer or Local Public Procurement Unit

A. Competition is not required under A.R.S. § 41-2636(D) to enter into a contract for a material or service that is offered from a set-aside agency, but may be used at the discretion of the agency chief procurement officer or local public procure- ment unit. If competition is used, an agency chief procurement officer may either:
1. Seek competition only from applicable set-aside agen- cies; or
2. Seek competition under A.R.S. §§ 41-2533, 41-2534, or 2535.
B. Contracts awarded under this Section, shall not exceed five years, including any renewal options.
