Section R14-2-101. Accident reports

A.      Where not otherwise specifically prescribed by rule with respect to particular classes of public service corporations, all public service corporations shall report in writing by the end of the next working day to the Commission all accidents in which such public service corporations are involved, which result in death, personal injury to any person necessitating off-site med- ical attention, or property damage exceeding $5,000.00. purposes of this rule, off-site medical attention includes any medical treatment provided by medical professionals which requires transportation of the patient by ambulance, or treat- ment of the patient in an emergency room, or in-patient hospi- talization. For those accidents in which it is not readily determinable if the property damage exceeds $5,000.00, the public service corporation will have an additional two working days in which to submit its report. Any associated personal injuries requiring off-site medical attention would still have to be reported within the initial business day.

B.       This report shall state, as accurately as possible, the dollar amount of the damage. If this amount is not known immedi- ately, or if investigation discloses a 15% or greater variation from the amount in this report, a follow-up report shall be sub- mitted.

C.      If such accidents result in death or injury likely to result in death, a report shall also be made within 24 hours by telegraph or telephone stating the essential facts.
