A. Notice of resignation or retirement. An employee shall resign or retire from the agency by submitting a letter addressed to the agency head and stating the effective date of the separa- tion.
B. Oral resignation or retirement. If an employee resigns or retires orally rather than in writing, the employee’s manager shall document the employee’s stated separation date and for-
ward the notice through the chain-of-command to the agency head.
C. Abandonment of position. If an employee abandons a position, it shall be deemed to be a voluntary resignation from the agency. The employee’s manager shall document the employee’s failure to show up for work and forward the notice through the chain-of-command to the agency head.
D. Refusal of resignation. An agency head may refuse to accept a resignation and may dismiss an employee under R13-5- 701(B).
E. Withdrawal of resignation. An employee may withdraw a res- ignation only by submitting to the agency head a written notice of withdrawal before the employee’s separation date. If a with- drawal is not submitted before the separation date, the resigna- tion is final unless both the agency head and the employee agree to withdraw the resignation.
