Section R11-2-205. Extension of Time for Initiation of Reclamation

A. The owner or operator of an exploration operation or mining unit shall submit a written request for an extension of time to begin reclamation under A.R.S. § 27-926(B) at least 45 days before the time to begin reclamation under A.R.S. § 27-926.
B. The State Mine Inspector shall evaluate and either approve or deny the request within 30 days. If the State Mine Inspector fails to act on the request within 30 days after receipt, the request shall be considered approved. If the State Mine Inspec- tor denies the request for an extension, the State Mine Inspec- tor shall state the reasons for denial in writing.
